This is one of those beers that you're convinced you've had when encountered, but surprised to find you've never rated. Happened to me here. A good-looking chewy caramels bitter, with these lingering in its aftertaste, it has plenty of body.

Rocky off white head on an unclear copper coloured body.
Toffee & berries aroma.
Medium bodied, minimal carbonation & clean on the back.
Toffee, caramel, malt & syrup tastes with a tangy finish.
Tastes more like an ESB than a Bitter.

Cask at Seven Stars, Derby (not listed in RateBeer). Pours a bright copper with a small off-white head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma – plus some hints of nuts. Malts again upfront in the mouth, where the general sensation is bitter-sweet (oscillates between the two). Autumn fruits and mushy stewed apples are there too with a few hints of general spices. Finish is a little more bitter. This is OK, but doesn’t set the world alight.

From old tasting notes. Slightly cloudy orange copper colorwith a medium beige head. Light fruity malt aroma redolent of orange peko tea. Zesty dryish malt flavor upfront. Mildly bitter hops in finish. Dry aftertaste.

Sun Inn Kelvedon, Autumn Beer Fest, Cask. Clear amber beer, bubbly cream colour head. Palate is light, smooth and has low carbonation. Smooth malts, mild tangy caramel, vague brackish water. Mild spice and dry pithy bitterness. Little orange peel before a light semi dry finish. A bit too many things irritate with this one.

Half pint, cask at Wm Hawkes. A covering white head with good lacing. Slightly hazy golden body, Smell of leafy hops and caramel malts. Malt-fruity taste of caramel and citrus leading to a restrained bitter end. Easy going bitter (shared with Finn, Hull 26.11.2015).
