A beer of historic proportions, our Half Moon Stout is named after the ship that Henry Hudson sailed into Penobscot Bay in 1609. Four hundred years later, this proud stout is sure to become a favorite for your own drinking vessel. A one-hour mash of pale, crystal, chocolate and wheat malts and an ample portion of roasted barley yield this dark, full-bodied stout with a heavy aroma of fresh-roasted coffee. And mild Fuggles hops balance the bitterness.

May the warm wind at your back not be your own.

Bottle sample at the last tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Alexey. Black with a small tan head. Sourish infected aroma with fruits, olives, a bit of vinegar and some roast. Sourish flavor, roasty, with some fruitiness, a vinegar touch, some fruitiness and a finish with harsh bitterness. Medium-bodied. Infected

Reviewed from old notes.
This was poured into a pint glass and a mug at separate times. Both times it basically looked the same.
The appearance was a nice hazy brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing speckling and then sliding a little bit.
The smell had a bready and grainy to grassy sort of thing going on. Light combination of chocolate and coffee comes in to blend.
The taste was mainly the same thing.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a decent sessionability about it. There’s a decent smooth creaminess about it.
Overall, not a bad beer but not exactly one that is a stellar one of its style.

22 oz bottle. Poured as dark as Batman’s cape. Thick beige head upon first pour which died down a bit. Left nice lacing. Nose is a baker’s chocolate. Taste up front is malt, chocolate in the finish. Body is light, texture is an oily mouthfeel, carbonation is low. Ok stout. Shared with LiteWait

Bottled@The Chriso rock the roof down pre-GBBF tasting. Deep ambery brown colour with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, toffee, some ashes as well as mild coffeeish notes. Flavour is the same with the coffee and ashes being in the main focus. Yet a very pleasant beer.
