This Nocturne is a blend of 2,5 and 6,5 year-old full-malt brews. And with loads of dark malt. Spontaneously fermented like all of our lambikken, but without the raw wheat portion, this is our take on a real Vlaams Oud-Bruin / Flemish Old Brown.

2024 version. A red copper ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity mix of tart berries, ground cherry, light lactic notes, Brett, horseblanket, very nice. In mouth, a nice ground cherry, light lactic notes, light cork, light buttery notes, very nice and smooth. On tap at Brew Chiodo.

19 June 2025. At Hal 16 (Dok Brewing). Cheers to the Teamleader crew!
Hazy dark brown, thin, tan head. Aroma of damp attic, malt vinegar, raw steak, old chocolate, overripe brambleberry, passion fruit, leather. Taste has sour plum, nectarine & blackcurrant in a soft chocolatey & caramelly malt body, quickly turning towards funky malt vinegar & leather before the acidic finish kicks in, offering woody tannins, nectarine & cherry pit and more vinegar. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Lovely fruity & funky stuff.

Clear reddish brown beer, small aery irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very acidic impression, vinegar notes, woody impression, a bit dusty, earthy, a hint of red fruits, some green apples, cola, red currants. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: gentle acidity, a bit oxidized, green apples, a bit earthy, tannins, dry, a little bitter, malic acid, pleasant. Aftertaste: a bit more sourish, even some acidity stinging in the back of the throat, some vinegar, lots of green apples, cola, a little funky, some brett, somewhat lemony, a little bitter, earthy finish, a gentle roast, pleasant stuff!

(Draft at Gollem Craft Beers, Amsterdam, 22 Feb 2025) Reddish brown colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity nose with red berries, oak wood, balsamic vinegar and raspberries. Fruity, malty, tart taste with notes of oak wood, red berries, vinegar, raspberries and sour cherries. Low bitterness. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made, with a fresh woody acidity. Very nice.

Draft @ ML Fontainas.
