“Hugs feel great. But when you find yourself behind the wheel of a 4,000lb truck rumbling over the gravel, hugging each person you pass just isn’t in the cards. So you raise your finger off the wheel just enough to acknowledge your neighbor. The Farmer Wave is a completely legitimate and wholly appreciated acknowledgement. It really is the least you can do to recognize that fleeting moment that you share with another person. It is simple, but meaningful.” – Matt Dinges Farmer Wave is our ale brewed with oats, lime zest, lime juice, and salt in collaboration with our dear friend Matt Dinges of Good Life Provisions.

Pours bright gold into a willi. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Lime and funky brett aromas. Soft with tart lemons and limes upfront turning to citrus skin and pith in the lasting earthy finish.

Moderately filtered dark yellow and a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows strong juicy notes of lime and hints of brett. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Lightly tart with a lime sweetness throughout. Basically straight lime.

Bottle split with Henry.
We both poured into tulips.
The appearance was a burnt yellow/orange color with a hazy sort of yellow/orange color about it. Finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a good pace. Slight sliding lace.
The aroma had some sweet to zesty lemon, subtle funk, sweet wood, some grassy bitter ends and a good blend of sour to tart citric acidity.
The flavor blended extremely well between the zest, the funk, the sweet, the tart and the sour. Acidity seemed controlled well while guiding the aftertaste fully from tart to sweet and sour on into the finish.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a good sipping sort of quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt appropriate. Acidity seemed quite controlled without any dulling sort of the sense of my tongue.
Overall, damn good saison, perfect for this time of year!

Bottle, by way of trade with Leighton. Cheers! Hazy gold. Pillowy, lasting, white head. Nose has sourdough bread. Clean and yeasty. Lots of lime zest and juice. Touch of vanilla. Taste is clean and bright, lime rind tangy. Lightly sour with a lovely lick of salt on the lips. Foamy, massaging mouthfeel. Lots of lime burps! Tangy saltiness for a finish.

Level 42 bottleshare, Santa is flying past below! Thanks to Leighton as ever for the HF supply. Hazy gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has good fine carbonation. Fluffy dry malts, mildly sweet. Savoury lime! Modest brett and a little lemon. Fluffy savoury lime finish. Reminds of a fruity gose. Interesting beer.

The aroma is fresh, juicy, funky, lime, apricot, peach, orange creamsicle, bread, must, spice and farmyard funk. The taste is crisp, tart, tangy, funky action, bright citrus fruits, sherbet, orange peel, lime, minerals, sour candy and good mouth - pucker. Finish is dry. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth - feel. Juicy, tart and refreshing. Tasty stuff!
