Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would--he threw a beer festival. Bothe the festival and the special beer served there became known as Oktoberfest. Brewed from the finest German malt and hops, Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, fullbodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Draft @ the Barley Pub. Orange color with thin white head. Nose is doughy malts and fruity hops, smells like it should. Flavor is authentic Marzen. Munich malt, toasted grain and the fruity hops to help with balance. Body is medium and nice for a lager. Pretty much what you expect from the style. A nice American version of a classic German style.

355ml bottle form Appellation Wines. Pours surprisingly dark brown for the style, thin white head. Aromas of lime and almonds, alongside caramel. More caramel sweetness on the taste, with a refreshing zing at the end. Not bad.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Bright amber body with a thin off-white head. Lively carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of lightly roasted malt and metal. One-dimensional flavour of caramel and roasted malt. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Fizzy carbonation. Not bad, but a bit dull and lacking in complexity.

400 yen bottle from Asahiya. A nice malty caramel aroma. The taste is medium bodied, caramel malts with a hint of sourness & oat or graham notes. It is a pretty decent beer but I think the Birra Roma Ambrata is nicer.
