Dark, roasted and jam packed full of flavour. Actually it’s very difficult to describe as the characteristics change so much the longer it is allowed to condition for. At its peak it is so rich you feel like asking if it will lend you a tenner.

Richer than a lottery winner, our take on Brampton Mild is not so much a meal in a glass as a 5-course banquet. Coffee, toffee and caramel tones tease your taste buds and warm your cockles.

Cask at GBBF 2016. Day 1. Pours clear brown with a creamy, white head. The nose holds dry toast, light earth, faint cocoa. Moderately sweet, with notes of brown bread, light bitterness, some milk chocolate. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with toasted leaves and cocoa. Nice mlid.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival 2016. Pours clear reddish brown, lasting off-white head. Aroma is layered cocoa, dark malts, light coffee, toffee. Taste is balanced with a good body for a mild. Lovely rich cocoa, nutty malts, toffee with a surprising depth of flavour. Very good Mild.

Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours clear deep brown with a small white head. The aroma is toasted malt, earth, caramel, rich fruit cake, malt loaf and a touch of umami. The taste is smooth, sweet, sticky, spicy, earth, syrupy fruits, brown bread, nut and chewy malt with some spice on the finish. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Well made and enjoyable.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear amber beer, patchy cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and has decent fine carbonation. Smooth rich malts. Little dark chocolate. Light nuts. Smooth finish. Flavoursome mild.

Cask at GBBF 2016, Olympia, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes quite similar, roasty, malty, caramel, slight coffee. Decent mild.

Gbbf. Klares dunkel orange braunes Bier. Geruch süß malzig, karamellig, Rübensirup. Geschmack süß karamellig malzig, Vanille, rotes malz, gut!

Cask at GBBF ’16, day one, 09/08/16. Chestnut brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is nutty, light smoke, toffee, fruit cake. Taste comprises toffee, light wood shreds, tobacco, biscuit crumble, dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent flavoursome mild.

Cask at The Prince of Wales Bar GBBF, (Trade Day) Tuesday 9th August 2016 Dark brown in colour a slight clarity, nutty, fruity and with a good dose of cocoa, fruity edge but the chocolate comes through again. Good for a mild, plenty of flavours here. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.6

Cask at GBBF 2016 09/08/2016. A clear dark copper brown coloured pour a halo of off white head. Aroma is chestnut, twiggy, brown sugars, apple. Flavour is composed of sweet brown maple, nutty, toffee Figgy pudding dried fruits, raisin. Palate is sweet sticky, lowish carbonation, sugars.
