Jackman’s American Pale Ale is brewed true to the style - medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing, with plenty of hop flavor and hop aroma. It’s noticeable hop bitterness is contrasted by the spicy and floral characteristics of the highest quality hops grown in the U.S.

Bottle. Pours a slightly orangish amber with a small head . Aromas are a lovely mix of caramel malts and citrus hops. Flavor is a little less spectacular... a mixture of apple juice, caramel and grain dust with some floral hops and a little bit of a fruity sweetness. Finish is kind of disappointing as it just kind of fades away into a smooth nothingness. Almost tastes like it needs to be much fresher... like the hops and finish have faded a bit, leaving a rather malty remainder.

Bottle. Dark golden beer with a lightly malty aroma. The flavour is strongly but freshly hopped and roasted dry. Overall a very nice beer.

12 fl. oz. / 355 ml bottle, bought at the GBBF 2008 for takeaway. ABV is 5.2%. Amber colour, moderate head. Interesting aroma, notes of ripe berries, flowers, caramel and some wood. The flavour has first a noticeable malty presence, then slightly subdued fruity American hops take over (a little more hops would not hurt!), leading to a moderately bitter and piney finish and aftertaste.

Bottle at Chris_o Pre GBBF Shindig 08. Hazy amber, lasting thin white head. Lovely aroma of good hops. A bit thin in the mouth. Lacks malt body. OK hop on finish. Actually not wonderful and a little dullish.725211 2.7/5. Seems a little harsh, yes it’s a bit simple and a little metallic and hard in the mouth, but the hop is absolutely fine. Reasonably tasty IPA if a little empty in the mouth.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden body under a nice off-white head leaving lacings. Malty nose with some fruits, quite sugary, with piney and tropical hops in the background. Nice malty sweetness in the flavor, with a pleasant piney bitterness to give it some balance. Full body. Lasting piney and citrusy finish. A nice and easy to drink beer, quenching and refreshing. Rating: 6-4-7-4-14-3.5. 080708
On tap at Patricks. A slightly hazy, dark golden to copper beer with a finger-thick off-white to beige head. Quite malty nose, sugar and caramel, and sufficient hops to let it dominate. Citrus and grass. Nice carbonation, full body. Mostly bitter, citrusy flavor, on a malty backbone. Medium length finish, fruity and bitter. Not a super-beer, but pleasant and easy drinking. 110114
