Cask @ Brunswick Inn brewpub, Derby with a pork pie. Black appearance, small off white head. Served a little too cold. Good liquoricey sweet flavours running throughout, some charred woody notes with additional coffee hints and a burnt bitterness, medium to light body. Ok.

Handpull cask at the Brunswick, Derby. Very dark brown, almost (but not quite) black. Uneven film of beige head. Aroma is resplendent with burned coffee, sweet liquorice, yeast extract. Sweet taste with liquorice in prominence, however there's a spicy/sour/savoury black pudding note nearer the long finish. A bit too much liquorice for my taste, but nonetheless a special beer.

Fra cask/gravity på Brunswick Inn i Derby 17 Feb 16. Delt med Rune. Svart. Lavt - litt farget stabilt skum. Tynn lacing. Bra aroma av sjokolade. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken sammensatt: Litt røyk. Litt mørk frukt. Blir tørr & syrlig etter hvert. Lett tørr avslutning.

Cask gravity @ Cannon Inn, Newton Poppleford. Extremely dark with a few bubbles for a head. Fairly strong tasting with a slightly soapy aroma and taste, but a few roasted malts are evident in the latter.

Cask, half at Brunswick Inn. Beige head to a rosewood coloured body. Rings of lace down the glass. Moderate dark malty nose, shades of liquorice. Mixed taste of chocolate and caramel. Well bodied. Nice. An extra point for its name (Derby 20.02.2015).

Cask at NWAF 2012. Very dark with a reddish hue and a bubbely off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits with hops, malt and some roasty notes and hints of alcohol. A bit sweet and fruity with a light bitterness in the finish. Decent enough. (2013-01-25)
