Can from the brewery. Appearance - deep brown to black. Off-white head. Nose - whiff of hazelnut, possibly peanut and milk chocolate. Taste - hazelnuts again, roastiness, very light chocolate, but much drier than the nose. Palate - light bodied, not as creamy and sweet as expected on the texture side of things. Dry, roasty finish. Overall - ok, not as exciting as the nose implied!

440ml can delivered from the Salmon, Leicester and drunk at home. Dark brown, opaque with a quickly dissipating khaki head. Sweet nutty aroma, a bit of chocolate cream, maybe a touch of white pepper. Sweet taste at first, but a bitterness creeps in at the back of the mouth. Long balanced finish with more hazelnut in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation. Nice.

On tap at the Chesham outlet. A glossy black pour with a billowing beige head; aroma of unsweetened drinking chocolate; creamy body with a chocoalte and nutella tast; then a drier finish with more drinking chocoalte and a touch f purple fruit. Very enjoyable.

Keg at the Mad Squirrel, High Wycombe. Brown-black with a beige head. Quite fizzy. Big aroma and initial flavour of roasted hazelnuts and peanut butter fades quickly to leave a light taste of chocolate and minerals with a short, mildly dry finish. Disappointing after a promising start.
