Cask: Special - 2015
This new copper-coloured beer has been brewed to celebrate the Rugby World Cup, in the style of a classic IPA, yet with a powerful hoppy twist, characterised by citrus notes and hints of herbs, pepper and pine.

Cask, on gravity at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol October 2015. Golden in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Flabby Cereal malts, a touch of citrus fruit, jarring buttery and a moderately bitter finish. In poor condition.

Cask @ Percy Shaw, Halifax. Copper-amber with a creamy head. Relatively smooth tasting bitter with an underlying malty-sweetness, and a red berry fruitiness. Has a bitterness.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Cask. Almost clear amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, mild fine carbonation. Light malts with a light but odd woody vibe. Floralness runs throughout. Little spice and bubblegum ester. Light citrus. Light finish. A little odd but fine.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy off-white head. The nose has lightly toasted pale malts, some buttered biscuits, vague citrus. Medium sweet flavor with nips of butterscotch, toffee, doughy bread, almost not bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with more doughy bread, light toffee, buttery biscuits, faint hay. A tasty ESB, overall.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. An attractive copper colour with a thin white head; malty aroma; sweet caramel taste; with a dry herbal finish. Quite satisfying, but falling far short of the brewer’s deScription.
