12oz bottle pours with a deep amber body that supports a billowing infected looking tan head (but this is not an infection). The aroma offers up caramel, sweet wort, molasses, a dash of sweet cherry like fruity esters and some faint graham cracker notes. The taste has a pretty rich mix of caramel malts, molasses, sweet maltiness and a dash of earthy malts. Toward the finish it picks up additional sweet dark fruity ester notes of brown sugar dusted dates and figs. Pretty nice.3.6

22oz bomber pours with a deep copper to amber body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up caramel, prunes, a bit of brown sugar and then a light fruity malty earthiness. The taste delivers smooth soft sweet malts heading into crystal malts, a dash of roasted malts and then a pleasing malty biscuit malty sort of earthy note. To midway thin soft sweet prune and fig like fruity esters come to the surface. Pretty nice Scotch Ale that delivers the malty, estery and earthy notes I need in the style. 3.8. Up with average to 3.7

12oz bottle pours with a clear deep copper body that supports a thin off white head. The aroma offers up malts, a bit of caramel malts and then faint spicy to slightly pine like malt sweetened hops. The taste starts with a mix of malts, modest pine hops, caramel malts and then some floral hops. It gets faintly earthy and spicy and dank before a whisper of floral hops bump those aside. It ends with a light roasted malt dryness as well as vague hop bitterness and malts.

Bottle from Bullwinkle’s Liquor in West Yellowstone, MT. Pours dark ruddy amber with a slight white head. Light smoky malty aroma. Med body or better. Flavor is smoky, rather dark/treacly malt. Not any particularly identifiable hop. Finishes rather less than dry.

Bottle from Bullwinkle’s Liquor in West Yellowstone, MT. Pours hazy gold with a slight white head. Aroma is a little honey and a little rye spice. Med body or nearly. Flavor matches aroma. Not getting much raspberry. But a little. Finishes fairly bitter. Flavor is not weak, but it’s kind of like it’s weak. Nothing really punching hard here. It needs a strong point, but hasn’t got one.
