Draft at Growler Guys: Pale yellow color with a small white head. Mild aroma is a little grassy, some grain, mild floral hops. Taste is mild hop bitters, slightly sweet, and more earthy grain. Husky comes to mind. Crisp and refreshing.

From a 22 oz. bottle. Pours a murky dark cola brown with a massive tan head. Aroma of toasted malt. Flavors of chocolate, leather and caramel. Bitter roast finish.

On tap at boise brewing. Pours out a hazy gold topped with a small white head. Nose is spice herbs pit fruit sweetness and the plum I guess. Taste is spice a little banana pit fruit sweetness.

On Tap at the Boise taproom Murky orange light tan. No head or lacing. Fruity farmhouse yeast aroma and flavors. Some of the plum flavors come in as well. Fairly strong and heavy.

On tap at growler guys meridian. Pours out crisp clear pale straw color topped with a white head. Nose is grassy hops earthy notes spice and a malty sweetness. Taste is more of the grassy hops some grain.

Bottle from Winco. Medium depth of brown with a thin layer of beige head. Spotty lacing. The aroma is mostly roast, a little chocolate. Flavor of roast, coffee, and light bits of chocolate. Mild bitters, good roast, minimal sweetness. Standard fare American brewpub porter. Not fancy, but comfortable.

On Tap at the Boise brewery Hazy, medium brown with a little redish tint. Modest sandy head. Quite dark and roasty, but the big player here is the hops. Lots of hp flavor and plentyof bitterness. This is a few SRM away from a CDA. Was actually hoping for something mild, malty and nutty, but instead this is a 55 IBU punch in the face....but in a good way. Well done and tasty in its own right. But pushing the envelope for the style, Id say.

On Tap at the Boise brewery. First pour from a fresh keg. Flat looking pour. C:ear deep brown, a track of a ring of bubbles as I sip this down. Lots of whisky barrel in the aroma. The barrel flavors blend well with the medium weight dark beer. Perhaps a bit much, but i wouldn’t say ists to its detriment or a flaw. A nice mod on a decent local Porter. Basically double the price of the non-barrel version though...

Growler fill from brewery, brewed for Boise Weekly anniversary party. Nice big lager, everything you like and more. Clear golden with lively carbonation. Aroma is pure grain, without any of the funky/musty/dusty smell sometimes present in the macro AALs. Taste follows with a nice crisp hops bite, finishes with lingering bitterness and an oily, slick mouthfeel. Not your father?s lager, but maybe your grandfather?s.
