Tap, at the brewery in Braintree, VT. Pretty much orange. Thin, sticky, white head. Very floral, lemony, citric hop. Fresh and vibrant. Solid malt background. Fresh, clean bitterness. Hints of sweet. Decent body. Finishes citric bitter, with more floral notes. Super drinkable.

Tap, at the brewery in Braintree, VT. Nearly black. Thin, lasting, dark tan head. Big coconut. Chewy, roast chocolate malts. Get some liquorice and vine fruits. But mostly coconut. Taste sets off sweet, turning fruity bitter. Palate is slick and oily, just like coconut milk. Finishes much the same. There’s no disguising the ingredients in this beer. I liked it a lot, although that slick mouthfeel felt a tad odd.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin cap of a tan head that dissipated immediately. There wasn’t any lacing.
The smell started off with some gentle smoke and a light portion of chocolate. No matter how much I let this warm, pumpkin doesn’t really show but in its place there’s a light vinegary aroma (doubt if that was intentional).
The taste was mainly of smoke, roast and chocolate. Luckily, the vinegar doesn’t show up in the flavor.
The mouthfeel was basically a medium bodied with a good sipping quality. Roast does hit on my tongue.
Overall, like the idea, but the execution, eh, I don’t think vinegar was called for in the aroma, so...get those lines cleaned, Bent Hill.

On tap at Cockadoodle Pizza in Bethel, pours a clear gold with some clingy white head. Nose is gristy, biscuit, light honey, light lemon. Flavor has some gristy notes and some tannic tea, lemon, light yeast, some lavendar too. Crisp finish. I was digging this.

On tap at the Tunbridge Fair’s craft beer tent pours a murky amber with some creamy, slightly off white head. Nose has a blend of both maple and fruit sweetness, toffee and nougat too, lightly nutty. Flavor follows right behind, some brown sugar and malt, a little roasted apple, light maple, chewy grains, some nuts. Dry finish. Call me crazy, but I was really digging this.

This was poured into a mini snifter.
The appearance was a jet black color with no head nor lacing.
The smell had a sweet maple syrup up front with a slight smokiness on the back end. A tad of \"meatiness\" wants to blend in to balance and then a slight little bit of sour to almost vinegar-esque sort of thing going on.
The taste was mainly syrupy sweet with the smokiness showing a nice level to back up. Vinegar-esque feels don’t show as much presence as they did in the aroma. There’s a light cocoa to smokey to maple syrupy aftertaste and a quick sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a fairly nice sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation runs super light and allows the sticky syrup to run the gamut. Smokiness doesn’t show a whole lot on my tongue, but I’m not worried, I think I get what Bent Hill is trying to do.
Overall, for an Imperial Stout that Bent Hill did and to \"smoke\" it, for the most part, I believe it worked. I’m not exactly sure where that \"sour\" to almost vinegary-aroma comes from, but hey, everything else seemed right. I’d still have this again.

Aroma: This one is floral on the aroma, grapefruit, sweet malt, and a bit of sugar
Appearance: It pours a very nice looking cloudy orange with a sheeting off white head
Flavor: Tastes more bitter than the aroma would suggest, nicely dry, sweetness is minimal
Palate: Not light bodied, but drinks like a lower ABV beer (than 6.1%), lively carbonation, dry close
Overall Impression: Thought this worked nicely. Maybe not the most exciting aroma ever, and it is slightly over carbonated, but otherwise this is quite tasty and enjoyable. Would can quite nicely me thinks.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Light messy lacing arranges nicely around the glass.
The smell started off with the roasty coffee and chocolate notes and as it warmed coconut lightly touched it up to balance.
The taste was semi-sweet through the chocolate allowing the coffee to arrange itself with the coconut. It keeps its roastiness nicely all throughout. There’s a light coconut to roasty coffee aftertaste leading to a semi-dry coconut finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs low allowing the beer to produce a cake-like feel on my tongue.
Overall, good beer, executed nicely. Though the coconut is subtle, its a nice offering from this brewery.

Purchased a 750 ml bottle from Hunger Mountain Co-Op. Murky red/ dirty a,her color, with slight lasting head. Aroma is oranges, tangerine, and citrus like pith.

Obvious citrus flavor so with a real nice blood orange juice mixed with a leafy pine hop. Hits of grapefruit with a bitterness that comes through the juice giving a medium length. 8.2 percent ABV is nicely hidden. This is the best brew I have sample from Bent Hill. Willing to try more after this one. Nicely drinkable.
