Draught/ Dark gold with thin white head. Full malty aroma with ’n bietjie spice. Light malty flavour with a bit of hop finish. Began better than it ended.

draft BJ’s Tampa. Pours golden, white head. Aroma was overly sweet with too much corn in the nose. Some faint hops seem to smuggle somewhere in there. Flavor, some pilsener malts, light spices and bitterness meshed together with some trace of corn sweetness.Aromatic mouthfeel with hints of fruits and caramel malts.

It poured up pale straw with medium opacity and weak white head. The aroma was pretty full with malt graininess, bubble gum, apple and banana. The flavor seemed apply-ee with supporting notes of bubble gum, wheat, grains and banana. This one was served up near freezing, sadly as all their beers are, but this time the low temp didn’t really mess up the flavor.

On tap. Pours black with an orange hue and a light brown head. The black malts are not overly roasted in the nose, more like dried fruit. Not overly full-bodied either - rather a little watery. A little low in carbonation also. Not until the finish do the malts show a little burned bitterness. Again a sweet BJs. 130709

On tap. Pours a reddish brown with a creamy, beige nitro head. Aroma of hard roasted malt and a whiff of coffee. Medium body, hard roasted sweet malts and a little licorice. Has a light malt bitterness in the finish. 130709

On tap. Pours a clear reddish dark amber with an off-white head. Sweet aroma of burned caramel and nuts. Quite full-bodied with a solid malt base with notes of nuts and burned caramel. No real bitterness but a clear alcohol burn. 130709

On tap. Pours a hazy orangey golden with an off-white head. A little banana and yeast in the nose. Medium body, distinctly sweet banana accents and a little phenols in the finish. Clearly BJs love their beers to be sweet! 130709
