Bottle at Level 42, thanks to Kenny, 27/07/16. Rich mahogany brown with a decent tan cap. Nose is rich malt, spice, liqourice, earthy hop, burnt toffee, fruit loaf, boozey tunes. Taste comprises tangy berry, candied orange peel, light perfume, charr, cocoa powder, spice. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a hop dusting. Ok CDA but fails to deliver in terms of complexity when the ABV is considered.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours darkest brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is roasted malts, charred wood, slightly burnt, peppery spice and cocoa. The taste is bitter, earthy roast, charred wood, twiggy, coffee grounds, dirt, mild acidity and decent astringency with a dry, coffee grounds finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Charred coffee grounds all round. Not great.

Medium sweet flavour with some berry gummies, mellow earth, bitter cocoa, wood, oily pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish, a little sticky, with further ripening berries, dates, mild chocolate, raisins. Solid.

Cellar clean out session. Hazy paleish gold beer, thin white head. Palate is light, semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Thin malts. Smokey savoury meaty mid. Modest citrus on the back end. Light semi dry finish. Interesting! Oink!

Very hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Peaty nose. Palate is light and fairly dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Thin malts, some creamy sweetness. Massive peat! It’s all here - TCP, Band Aids, bitter smoke. Some citric hop and a little pine provides a modicum of relief from the peat onslaught. Dry finish. Bitter peaty linger. Too peaty by far for me but strangely, I don’t hate it.

Sampled from De Molen monthly tasting. Hazy a bit murky even, brownish color, no head. Aroma is buttery, (Dutch) "muisjes". Taste malts, caramel, unfortunately a bit buttery again, light toffee, sweetish finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Meh.

500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, dark amber colour with small, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity, wheaty and dusty yeasty aroma, notes of banana, pear and apple. Taste is moderately sweet fruity, slightly phenolic, slightly dusty yeasty, hints of baked banana; oily texture, sticky palate.
