… and England have failed to qualify for the World Cup, 2 Unlimited are Top of the Pops with their dance smash No Limit, Shane Warne has bowled the ‘Ball of the Century’ and Rooster’s Brewing Co. has just hatched - forever changing the shape of beer in the UK. Originators and innovators of quality, new world pale ales, with an emphasis on flavour and aroma, our beers start to stand out and turn heads amongst a sea of brown beer, with Yankee (our flagship pale ale) leading the way.

Maurice Hillerman is an unsung hero. This unsung hero is a clear golden beer, pretty in appearance, hoppy, in character crisp in its keg pour. Flavoursome enough.

The word 'Yankee' probably has Dutch language origins. This beer has evolved too and this good-looking dry-hopped version has a good hoppy-tropical fruit balance to its flavour, verging on sweet in taste. Almost evident in aroma too

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 19 Aug 2025) Amber colour with foamy, tan head. Malty nose with apricots, dark bread, toffee, caramel and autumn leaves. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of apricots, dried fruit, dark bread and a balanced earthy bitterness. Light body, dry. Well balanced bitter. Quite nice.
