500ml can. Pours a dirty reddy orange with a small head. Aroma is apple and blackcurrant cordial, little corn. Taste has some corn, cherry and fruits of the forest. Ok for getting pissed up on at a party.

Pours with a near-perfect head (doesn’t stay long enough) and a gold body with no visible carbonation. Soft wood and hops aroma. Flavour is heavy with caramel and a hoppy finish. Not bad balance for a lager, really, and I’d probably choose this one over a number of worse lagers out there.

Originally rated September 2005. Best before 11/06/06 and bought at the LCBO. Labelled Zubr 1768 on the label and rated at 5.8% ABV. This Polish strong beer pours a golden colour with a touch of amber. The white head is bubbly and does not retain its shape too long. Patches of lacing are left though. The nose is pretty mild with small amount of hop (probably Saaz). Carbonation is very active with tiny bubbles. The taste has some bitterness to it from start to finish, but is mostly very smooth, just like its aftertaste. Slight grass and apples makes a comeback at the very end of its trail. Very, very smooth, with more grain malt then grass, which reminds me more of North American pils, then Euro pils. Good different Polish brew, but very smooth for a stronger one.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow color beer with a small bubbly head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of apple and apple syrup with some sweet notes. Taste is very light on the malt and mostly dominated by apple syrup and light adjunct. Not overly sweet though quite sweet. This has the carbonation of a spritzer with a light body. Not really good and would probably be better if they were to drop the malt and just do a cider.

Canned 500ml. -Darker golden coloured, medium sized white head, surprisingly dusty nose without any trace of alcohol. Ufff, the taste is loaded with alcohol. Just another typical and hardly drinkable Polish strong beer.

Can. It pours a clear, golden body under a finger-thick white head. Fruityness, grains and malty sweetness on the nose. Yellow apples and some pears. A hint of cooked vegetables. The flavor is on the fruity side, with some bitterness showing up towards the very end. A decent one, but not very interesting in any way. 120107

Putty looking, dirty beige head, fast gone over foxy-amber beer. Fruity, nearly grapey aroma around a lot of watered-down caramel. Bitter-nutty flavour. Fresh cucumber retronasal. Would actually be quite good, if the beer wasn’t so awfully watery and thin. Vienna can have a bit of bite. This is just a good base, but the bite is missing.
