Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent orange gold with a so-so white head. Aroma suggests cooked light stone fruits. ? Med body or so. A bit fizzy. Flavor is hoppy, bitter, sort of caramel, really rather non-deScript, hop-wise. Sort of a barley wine that got overhopped? But the hops are hard to find, let alone parse. Still, the flavors are acceptable, and the ABV helps a lot. Nothing to write home about tho. The finish is bitter.

Refrigerated 12. Oz. brown bottle, from slowrunner77 (this finishes the 50 states for me), big thanks, poured into a snifter. Black with small off-white head. Aroma is nice milk chocolate, medium body, low carbonation, and a little small bubble lacing. Taste is lactose, chocolate, roasted malt, and some balancing hops.

Bottle from Dart at Stateline. Pours rather copper with a slight beigeish head. Aroma is a bit meh. Arguably it’s malt. Near med body. Flavor is not so meh as the aroma, and the malt tries to be an alt - maybe it’s getting there. But all the ingredients don’t coalesce well for me. Finishes with a slight unpleasant flavor, but it’s drinkable, and arguably fits the style.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a merest tan smear. Aroma is very, very dark chocolate with bourbon aspects. Full bodied. Flavor is heat, but not obnoxiously so, lots and lots of chocolate, bourbon notes, spicy stuff like pepper and anise. Heavy treacle backs all that up. It’s an amazing flavor compilation. Excellent drink.
