Pours a very dark brown from a bottle. Aroma is an interesting chocolate/raw tobacco, flavor is similar, sweet. Didn't notice any chile. Pretty good beer.

Bottle, 2015, cellared carefully. Pours clear black, small beige head, dissipates leaving some residual and lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coconut, bourbon, hint of marshmallow, vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, really rich and well integrated. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. This is quite excellent. Too bad it doesn't have more ratings.
Hint of funk over a tart Amber ale, oak notes, aiiight.

Really had higher hopes for this as the description in the bottle sound so much better. But the aroma and flavor barely have any of the qualities described. Body is a touch on the thin side though everything is fairly well balanced and alcohol is very well hidden. Just kind of a ho hum beer.

On tap pours out amber copper topped with a sand head. Nose is pine hops sweet malt notes. Taste is more of the nice pine hops some citrus and sweet caramal malts.

Medium brown, lots of cocoa, and a bit toasty, not bad, bit fudgey. Mid range.

Pours a nice somewhat cloudy mahogany from a bottle, light khaki head is thick, but dissipates with some lacing, thick bubbles along the rim. As others have mentioned, big oak aroma, seems like raw oak, not in previously used barrels. Big upfront tartness, a subtle quinine-like bitterness on the finish. The tartness is somewhat lemony. There's also a faint white pepper. Pretty good beer.

Bottle at Black Christmas 2017
Black color. Mild aroma of dark malts and bourbon. Dark malts flavor, moderately sweet, a lot of booze.
Good but excessive.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, brown sugar and molasses. Flavour is along the same lines, with caramel, brown sugar and bourbon barrels. Warming but not too boozy for the ABV. Really good stuff.
