Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Golden, with decent fizz. Inviting aroma of juicy, dryish fruit with a dab of honey in the background. Full, apple juice flavour with a slightly farty edge and tart finish. Good.

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Golden with slight carbonation. Light, apple juice aroma, with a touch of skin and core. Easy drinking, with more fruit, a slightly herbal edge and medium finish. Ok.

Bottle from Oakchurch Farm Shop, Staunton on Wye, Herefordshire, purchased and consumed 21-03-10 ABV is 6.2% Pours gold with a very good clarity, this is nicely sweet and a good juicy little number. There is a lovely fruity tang throughout and I understand from the blurb on the bottle that this is effectively a single varietal cider made with Browns Apples only. This held up very well indeed following so soon after the Gwatkins Blakeney Red. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6

From a bag in a box at Battersea BF 2007. Acetone aroma. Hazy green gold colour. Acidic, dry and harsh. Where’s the whisky? Really dry on the end. Mungo and Duff had about one sip each, which left me with more or less an entire half a pint to finish. Designated Doppelganger anyone?

Barrel at GBBF 2006. Hazy gold colour with no head. Sour apple aroma. Quite drinkable cider. Some faint rubber on the sourness.
