Used to have these little bottles way back befoore I starteed rating beers but this is the first time I’ve seen this in 8 years. Not sure if this is the right palce for this rating, on my bottles it says Schoenling little kings by Hudepohl Brewing Company in Cincinati but brewed in wilks bare so I guess its lion. Two 7 oz twist off pony bottles poured into a mug. No head and no visible signs of co2. Smell is typical green bottle lage but in the glass it goes more metallic on the olfactory. Pretty good co2 on the tongue tho none visible. Taste is mild lager tho its called cream ale here. Yes, slight hints of cheap malt liquor going on here. Could use a little more manners but I can’t really find anything negative about this.

I normally don’t give pale lager looking things a 4 for looks but this pours beautifully into a frosted glass, looks yummy, big three inch head. Hudephole, rymes with beuatiful? Well any hudy will tell you the first taste is quite full of co2 and is bitter, but not as rude as most of melanie’s beers. Enjoyable, looks good and refreshing to an extent. Would never know this quality would be brewed at city.

Let’s wrap up these notes from last year’s DLD, for Pete’s sake. Very light, generic yellow beer color. Thin ring of foam around my plastic sample glass. I’m getting a slight tartness in the taste, then a metallic tang and corn adjunct which is normal for many light beers. Still a lot like water.
