Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A light hazed amber orange coloured pour a fine beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, ginger, wintergreen, grass, semi sweet. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty malts, brown sugars, little funky grass funk. Sileage. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, decent cask condition. Lingering medicinal hop,

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours “bitter brown” with a medium sized foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and caramel in the aroma. Floral hops again in the mouth, there it is quite sweet but with a little bitterness underneath, and a watery texture. Tropical fruits, kiwi and peach are also prominent with some spicy hints coming later. A touch of dryness in the finish. This is reasonable but definitely on the bland side.

Pint in Lymington. Not the best pint, maybe a sour note, which is really not my thing. I followed it with 3 pints ot Landlord and that was on top form.

Missed connection at Leeds train station allowed for this pre National Winter Ale Festival ale to get things started. A sugary-hoppy smoothish number.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a medium sized foamy almost white head and good lacing. The aroma is pretty faint. Just hops at first but some citrus coming through later. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth with floral hops, tangerine and citrus. Hints of lemon and stone fruits too after a while. Sweetness lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is reasonable but not really an IPA.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A slightly hazy golden amber pour with tight cream head; sour grainy aroma; dry in the mouth with a sour grainy taste and some butterscotch and honey; then a herbal bitterness and a little spice to finish. An odd IPA.
