Tap at Takumiya. Deep cloudy orange with a low, lacy head. Big citrus nose, sharp, oranges, grapefruit, biscuit, some tropical fruit as well. Flavor is more tropicla fruit, some fresh, some old and funky, papaya, orange, prickly, great hop character and a rather bitter, spicy finish. Good first IPA from the masters of fruit lagers.

Tap at Keyaki Spring 2017. Huge yuzu nose. big cloudy, muddy blond color. Smooth, low carbonation, great yuzu, bitter finish. Nice fruit, but not as great as their fruit lagers.

Slightly tart nose that is very citrusy with great sourness but I don’t think it has much mango. Nice light slightly sour with a bit of sweetness in the mouth. Good carbonation. Not much mango but good

Tap at Ichiya. Honey gold in color with a creamy head of foam. The aroma is citric acid, fruity but also a bit of catpiss uric acid. Medium to full bodied with a sharp carbonation and tangy citrus finish. The taste is acidic citrus, a bit tangy and earthy. Alright.

Tap at Takumiya"s Anniversary Event. A Weizen made with Kinkan. The color is milky gold with minimal head of foam. The aroma is cloves and Kinkan. Very raspy carbonation on a fullish medium body. The taste is wheaty spicy cloves and citrus. Clean taste and a good beer. 3.6/7

Tap at Takumi. Lovely nose of wheat, clove, light banana, citrus. Beautiful cloudy golden orange. Great flavor. The kinkan is so well integrated with thi weizen, it gives a great citrus tinge without standing out in any unnatural way. This is a lovely fruit beer, just perfectly done. Smooth, full, perfect level of carbonation. Wanted another pint but it ran out. Awesome stuff.

very cloudy amber golden color. Tart light citrusy nose, the Kinkan is well integrated. Carbonated, lots of citrus character, rounded character. Very well executed fruit weizen. Banana and cloves linger in the finish. Excellent

medium purple. Very interesting sweet potato nose with some soft Fruity notes in the background. Malty, slightly astringent mouth feel that is a bit strange. Very strange aftertaste. Don’t know if I really like this beer due to the aftertaste

Tap at Ichiya. Dark brown with orange, cloudy, with a low, fine tan head. Rich treacly nose, fudge, raisin, prune. Lovely treacle and toffee flavor, but not overly sweet. Light sherry notes, a bit of tobacco.. Full and smooth with low carbonation. Tons of raisins, and a bit of orange and maybe grape. This is pretty complex, and has an awesome bitter, peppery hop finish that balances everything perfectly. Really top level English-style BW.

Thanks to KL about the heads up this was on tap at Ichi-Ya. A deep opaque reddish brown with a thick filmy beige head. A fruity rich bready malt aroma - berries and caramel. Medium bodied but it somehow feels light and yet velvety at the same time. Sweet malted caramel biscuits then chewy malts and stone fruits. The flavor hints at spice and yet remains wonderfully balanced. The takeaway malt biscuity caramel with fruits - a great Barleywine that is dangerously drinkable. Top Knotch.
