This was decent. Black of course, with standard Baltic porter flavors and some ash. A little anise flavor. Medium palate. I applaud their attempt at this uncommon style.

Bottle. A- Citrus, hoppy, piney. A- Brown color, cloudy liquid, frothy head. T- Medium bitterness, subtle citrus, hoppy. P- Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, abrupt finish. O- Lacks a ton of flavor and a little thin but not horrible. The citrus aroma is much stronger than the citrus taste. Average.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of pepsiedcan. Thanks for the chinchill bronnust bottle, brah! Pours a deep brown appearance with a thin dark brown head. Burnt sugar, dark chocolate, light toffee, slight anise, slight fruity aroma. Kind of goopy and coats the teeth. Black licorice, brown sugar, plum flavor. Millstream had a good thing going with their German beers and it just seems like they’re flushing it down the shitter with all this stuff that they don’t know how to brew.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of pepsican. Thanks! Pours a hazy dark orange appearance with a thin cream colored head. Somewhat metallic, caramel, light spice/nutmeg, toasted malty, vanilla aroma. A bit tangy/metallic, chewy toasted malty, rich cracker, herbal, slightly bitter hoppy flavor. Millstream has better German offerings.

Bottle sampled at a tasting. From notes. Smokey and a little boozy. Dark fruits and some caramel. Good, but not great.

12oz bottle scooped up at Zips in Minneapolis. Hazy unfiltered orange-tan body. Thin, glass lacing white head. Hoppy, rindy residue. Not really in line with most White IPAs, this has a drier, more bitter thing going on. Dry straw, wheat notes. Flowery, earthy feel. OK, probably nicer brewery fresh. Comes off like a hoppy Double Wit at times, oddly noble hopped. I’d guess it was in the 7-8% ABV range...8.1% according to BA, and they call it a Belgian IPA, but I think it is most similar to an unfiltered Imperial Pils, with the strawy dry hop tones. Final thought - tastes like a really nice Imperial Pils.

Hazy amber pour - thick, soapy lace - juicy, resinous cascade nose, with a lightly bready malt base underneath - simple aroma, but pleasant - fairly creamy mouthfeel - flavor is fairly acidic and quite husky and dirty - bitter grapefruit rind and other bitter citrus notes - light woodiness - mild metallic notes - finish of lingering huskiness and some caramel and toasty Munich malt notes, which seem very out of place in this style - not all that enjoyable.

From a 12 oz bottle shared in Gardiner MT. Pours amber with a thick off white head. Grassy nose. Flavors of biscuit and some grass and butterscotch. Is this really an IPA?
