I usually go with brewers intention, but this is way more Stout than Black IPA. Has that roasty deep brown chocolate caramel thing going, not the heavy thick feel of a Black IPA, or the chocolate covered minty hop bite...this has more of a classic, enjoyable West Coast hop feel there. Heavy, thick, creamy chocolate malt. Strong Porter? Its good, but kind of off-target stylistically.

Bottle during RBWG. Pours a cloudy orange gold with small frothy off white head. The aroma is pine and citrus. Similar flavor with weird soap flavor.

Thanks to Chris for bringing this bottle over! Smooth fresh nose. The beer starts very floral, intense bitter-floral with a nice slight malty body. The mainpart is a bit sharp-bitter, great floralness, smooth, easy to drink with deepness. Nice!

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at Beer Crazy in Urbandale, Iowa. The pour is a black brown with a khaki head that falls fast. The aroma is a soft roast. The taste is char roast, the oatmeal and a clean dry mineral finish. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft carbonation and the clean finish. Solid Stout.

Bottle. A- Banana, wheat, spices. A- Golden color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Banana, bubblegum, spices, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, wheaty finish. O- I like the name they use now with a cow on the bottle and calling it a Hefe R Weizen. Cleverly played. A pretty standard hefe in taste. Lots of bubblegum and banana. I could drink it although I wouldn’t seek it.

12oz bottle. Opaque brown-black body. Foamy, glass-rimming beige head. Rich chocolate caramel aroma, deep malt tones...pretty nice. Sweet and full bodied, with a little trace of heat under the big chocolate tones. Remains full drinkable despite being full bodied, Has some interesting fruity undercurrents. Pretty solid beer overall.

Bottle while watching super long Swedish film. This is not very good beer. Pours murky brown with nose of malt and molasses. Tastes of amaretto, malt, caramel, dirt, and molasses. Sweet and bitter and messy.,

This was decent. Black of course, with standard Baltic porter flavors and some ash. A little anise flavor. Medium palate. I applaud their attempt at this uncommon style.

Bottle. A- Citrus, hoppy, piney. A- Brown color, cloudy liquid, frothy head. T- Medium bitterness, subtle citrus, hoppy. P- Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, abrupt finish. O- Lacks a ton of flavor and a little thin but not horrible. The citrus aroma is much stronger than the citrus taste. Average.
