Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours brown with orange glints and a beige head. Aroma is a confusing mix of hop and malt - pleasant, but I can’t parse it. Near med body. Flavor is nicely hoppy. Missing the obnoxious nut and chocolate to be found in some browns. If I don’t enjoy the style, hops can save the beer. This one is saved. finishes towards bitter and reasonably towards dry.

On tap at Hopwater Distribution. Clear golden / orange coloured pour with a. Lasting uniform white froth. Aroma is nice sticky orange peel, pineapple, some biscuity grains, some pine needle. Flavour is composed of semi sweet little caramel, orange rind, sharp citrus, sticky hop resin, slightly chewy. Palate is semi sweet, caramel, sticky resinous hop, sticky. Hides the abv pretty well, assertive hop bitterness. Pretty well balanced if a bit on the sweet side.
