12oz can poured into the wacky Engelszell glass. Clear, gets hazy at the end, golden color. Thick, foamy head builds a top and fades into a sticky lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet (Belgian candy), light esters (very restrained banana), lightly airy yeastiness, and dough from the malts. There is an additional interesting fruity sugar light character that’s very appealing. Flavor loses all that ester and has an understandable Belgian sweetness and a strong earthy bitterness. Doesn’t seem like hops. Also, not sticky, big but not BIG. This is the third or fourth time I bough this beer and finally getting to rate it. I think it’s a damn good take for an American brewery.

Can at home, Nivala. Colour is murky dark orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Some fruits, pine, caramel, massive hops and malts. Not very fruity even label says so. Very hoppy and surprisingly drinkable.

Such an intresting concept beer, and good! It has all the typical porter aspects id expect. It is a bit watery overall. Enjoying it with a fried plantain, and it is delicious! Maple distinct on the finish. 12 oz can.

Poured from 16 oz can into a tulip glass. Pale cloudy orange with white brief head, funky lemon head. Medium body, moderately carbonated. Taste is tart orange, lemon, pineapple, and finish is mild sour and hoppy. Very good.
