Slightly cloudy golden body with a nice three centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, alcohol and a nice piney and floral hop scent. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong wheat and hop flavours at first with a good light wheatie and yeast flavour and some smooth grassy flavours near the end. Aftertaste is mild with only some hops and mild yeast coming through with a little wheat and banana flavours. Overall, not a bad White IPA - showing some good fresh hops, but leaving the palate very mild and subdued throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on 30-December-2013 for US$1.99 sampled in my hotel room here in Clearwater, Florida on 02-January-2013.

12oz bottle poured into a 6oz nonic glass. Medium thick head that never ever fades, its like gelatin on there. Opaque black body. Pretty enough of a stout. Aroma is dull, just wet black malts with mild roast. Dry aroma. Flavor is very dry, bitter black malts, well attenuated. Its pretty dry and tastes like bitter black water. Nothing off , just nothing much there. Bottom of the bottle looks filtered clean.

Bottle @ Armin’s apartment. Thanks Armin! Pours a black appearance with a brown head. A bit twangy, light vinegar, metallic, chocolate, coffee aroma. Strong vanilla, a bit fruity, strong roasted malty, coffee, slightly twangy flavor. Flavor is better than the aroma but still not that great. Barrel isn’t that forward. Ok.

Bottle courtesy of nuplastikk, thanks! Cloudy pale yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma of subtle white pepper, stale straw. Taste is peppery white bread dough, lemon. Dry and dusty finish. Not quite as sour or funky as most berliners.

Tap at Old Fashioned. Hazy yellow-tan body. Big, frothy, steady white head. Tart and lemony, thin watery body. Doesn’t quite nail it, but has some pleasant sour wheat tones. Not quite dialed in, kind of farmy and wild. Lemon and lactic oddness. I like it, but it could use a little work.

500mL bottle poured into an old school wide mouth Blvd goblet. Pours dull yellow, murky, can’t see thought it, looks dirty. Aroma has a strong spiked tart lacto character. It’s totally clean with a bit of sweet and husky corn malt quality. Still nice. Flavor is cleaner with a spiked tart character with a faint eggy lacto. Nice sharp carbonation makes the beer very easy drinking.
