Bottle. A sour malt, apple, and vinegar aroma. Orange yellow color - slightly cloudy with small head. A tart apple, sour malt flavor with a slightly bitter finish. A very nice gueuze but not spectacular - might have needed to age a bit more.

Bottled, labelled Drie Fonteinen Akkurats Gold Geuze 50/50. Hazy deep golden. Aroma of barnyard and pineapple. Citric with very lively, champagne-like carbonation, creating a short, spritzy mouthfeel. Flavour of lemon & grapefruit juice. Has big aging potential.

Bottle provided by Olivier at the 4/17/05 Montreal tasting. HEAVILY sedimented and unfiltered, chunky, hazy golden-yellow beer, with an initially small white head that immediately recedes to ring then nothing. Aroma of wheat, vanilla, pils malt (honey, light corn), husky malt shells, bland nectarines, spongecake, more wheat and tons of drying, bland yeast. Flavor starts out with yeast chewiness, tons of wheat, light hints of lemon and honey. Some notes of corn-like lager flavors and a touch of cream. But take all that and add about a gallon of water to it. Horribly watery, flat body, perhaps the most watery Belgian beer I can remember drinking. This can’t be a good sample. . .It’s funny though, I kept remarking how this, taken as a blond ale, or a pale lager, would get a tremendously high rating. Unfortunately this is a tarwebok or some version of that, not a pale lager or blond ale. . .

An unclear orange beer with a nice white head. The aroma is sweet and wheat and so is the flavor, though in the flavor there are mixed in notes of caramel.

Vintage 1998, 6½ years old
Cloudy copper color; huge foam; nice lace. Beautiful aroma, cellar, cobwebs, gently sweet. Good mouthfeel, not so sour, but really astringent.
Lovely and easily drinkable; Jens Ungstrup and me are having it with our Sunday brunch at PlanB, and this is the perfect match to it!

Bottled 375ml, alc. 5%, 2003 vintage (bottled 03-02-2003)
Slightly hazy honey golden color, small creamy head, lively champagne carbonation. Nose has strong sourness, sweaty horse blanket and grassy hops - certainly not "My First Beer" -nose. Very earthy and salty with sharp sour and tart apple juice flavor (and some balsamico and grapefruit too). Lemony, dry citric acidic, hoppy and sour finish and aftertaste. Very complex and very demanding beer.

2016-10-19, bottled 2005, 11 years old, 8-4-7-4-16=39
Cloudy red color with small carbonation. The aroma of cherries is penetrating, complex (8.5). The mouthfeel is soft, it has enough carbonation, strong tartness, and moderate cherry flavor. Moderate astringency in the final.
Very nice.

Red color; flat. Some cherry and cherry kernels aroma, and sourness, of course. Very dry, not as complex as the Framboos, but honestly sour.
