Description
Beavertown was founded in 2011 by Logan Plant, the son of Robert Plant, singer with Led Zeppelin. At first established as a brewpub in De Beauvoir Town, East London as part art of the Duke's Brew and Que experience. Expanding means moving! In 2012 to Hackney Wick and in 2014 to Tottenham Hale.
In June 2018, it was announced that Heineken would be buying a minority stake, so that Beavertown could spend ยฃ40 million on a new brewery and visitor site. The new brewery was launched in 2020, with a capacity of 500,000 hectolitres, a ten-fold increase in their previous capacity.
As of 7 September 2022 Heineken has taken complete control of Beavertown and now has 100 per cent ownership. Founder Logan Plant will stay on as an adviser.

Can at home, from Tossco Online, 03/07/22. Moderately hazed orange golden with a decent white cap. Nose is orange pith, melon, grass, pineapple, soft malts, grapefruit. Taste comprises soft malts, light breads, grass, pine nip, ripe melon, tangerine, light stoned fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with balanced light juicy come grassy hop bitterness. Has 'super market beer' written all over it in terms of dumbed down ingredients, I remember the days when a Beavertown DIPA's SP was 3.8 and would likely rise into the 4's. That said it's not terrible or deserving of 3.0 and sub 3 rates IMHO.

440ml can - Pours a hazy yellow-gold colour with an average sized foamy near white head. The aroma is floral and fruity with some light grainy notes. A moderately sweet and bitter taste, grainy with juicy oranges, lemon peel and tropical fruit flavours and a moderate citrusy bitterness.

Can at home in Hackney - think I picked it up from Tesco. Pours hazy ruddy gold with a frothy, white head. Medium sweet flavour with notes of ripening citrus, pale grains, bread, a hint of pine, rind. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more pale bread and ripening citrus. Basic but drinkable. Always a bit sad drinking a beer like this from Beavertown. They were brewing some of the best hoppy beer in the UK right or so years ago and now itโs this, a pretty average offering.

Can from Tesco. It pours hazy yellow - gold with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, perfumed, lychee, bubblegum, mango, yellow plum, nectarine and apricot. The taste is fairly crisp and dry initially, soft, bitter - sweet, touch green, bit of booze kicks in after a while, rawness, pithy, zesty, ripe stone fruit, yellow plum, persimmon and some grainy vibes with a dry finish. Medium body and average. Nice aroma, but perhaps a bit subdued and a little harsh on the taste almost. Ok.
