Bottled (from Ales By Mail). Very deep brown, close to black colour with a mediumsized creamy beigeish brown colour. Aroma is roasted malts, some mild vegetably notes, liquorice, tar and mild smoked wet wooden notes. Flavour is liquorice, roasted malts, some toffee and mild ashy and burnt wooden notes. Also some mild meaty notes as it warms up.

Bottle at Duke’s. It pours hazy golden amber with a small white head. The nose is hay, pithy citrus, sweet stone fruit and bread. The taste is earth, pithy citrus (particularly orange), bread, pleasant bitterness, underlying sweetness and a touch of alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Perhaps a touch too sweet even, but flavoursome and quaffable nonetheless.

Appearance: Dark and subtle red color with a creamy beige head that leaves a lovely lacing.
Aroma: Dark malt, rich hoppy and fruity.
Palate: Medium pluss body. Slightly sweet and a rich bitterness. Average carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: A round fine dark malty base. Grape hoppy, fruity and coffee.
Overall impression: Lovely stuff!

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a deep amber glare with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and dark chocolate. Bitter, thick malty and dark roasted malty. Light liqourice and bitter chocolate.
