This pours out a brown beer with nice ruby highlights. There are aspects of a Porter and a Scottish Ale here. The nice thing is that their beers come in a sample pack "mixed litter" so you don't have to suffer through 5 more if there's one or two in there you don't care for. Not a bad beer, but it might disappoint a purist looking for a good Scottish Ale.

Slightly hazy golden in color, no head in sight. (Where is it??) Interesting smell... can't quite place it. Banana? Taste... ahh yes, that's banana. How odd. But good! Average mothfeel, maybe a bit more. Wanted more out of this, oh well. Decent once-in-awhile beer.

This tastes like the traditional English IPA's might have tasted before they watered them all down. Not at all an unpleasant IPA.

Flying Dog's forte is their Pale Ale Dept. This is a thirst quenching hoppy Cascade pleaser. Good beer.

Kölsch needs more assertiveness and this ale falls into that same category. Pleasant unoffensive, but no outstanding characteristics. Light and refreshing although a little light bodied.

Crystal clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of slight citrus, a fair amount of hops, caster sugar and a mild wheatiness. Medium-bodied; Creamy mouthful-mild malty flavour with a subtle sweetness and a simple finish. Aftertaste super clean with no harsh flavours. Overall, a fairly bad beer-nothing impressive from this unimpressive brewery. Definately not worth buying! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, D.C. on 29-December-2003.

Well, I guess that the aroma is not as much strong, the beer has some light mint character and is not too much impressive.

Light amber color, creamy head. Strong aroma, hoppy, strong hop flowers, mango, apricots, caramel. Smooth, malt and caramel, hoppy fruitness, well mixed with the others. Very good hop fruity final, but shorter than usual. Finally, a good and easy to drink IPA, less aggressive than many others.

Bottled. Very dark reddish brown. Toffee nose. Grapefruity hops takes over from there. Very sweet with big crystal malt character. More toffee in a finish with less bitterness than common in US barleywines. Ina barleywine tasting session it wouldn't stand out much, but omhper likes barley wines, and this is good beer.

Amber coloured with nice thick head which laces. Nice hoppy aroma with a little citrus, nice malts with west coast resinous hops (cascade?).
