Cask @ George Hotel, Cullingworth. Dark, clear reddish-brown in colour with a small creamy head. Has mild chocolate notes in aroma and taste that’s soon superseded by the strong but palatable chilli that leaves a small lingering fire in the mouth.

Half-pint, hand-pulled at the Firs Club, Codsall on 17 Nov 2012. Almost headless black bodied brew: at least my pour didn’t have much of a covering, just a wisp and collar of small, tanned bubbles. Roasted malty molasses in the nose and taste: dark chocolate and coffee notes fill your nostrils and mouth as you get to grips with the brew. The beer has a nice bitter finish, a very pleasant brew in deed, pity about the no-show of the head. The body feel was good, the flavours just don’t fade away and the alcohol level doesn’t try and get into the taste.

Cask at GBBF 2010. An unclear dark brown beer with lots of sediment floating around under a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, lemony hops, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits as well as lighter notes of chocolate, leading to a dry and bitter finish. The body is light and I find the beer a bit boring.
