On tap at The Taphouse, pours a light hazy golden. Fairly ordinary aroma and flavour of hops. Nothing too over-burdening. Smooth palate.

12 oz bottle purchased at 99 Bottles in Federal Way, Washington. Pour is hazy murky brown copper ruby with a one inch tan head. Nice lacing as it falls. Aroma sweet dark cherry, caramel malt and a slight roast element. Taste is the caramel cherry sweet maltiness, though sharply chemical - a little abrasive. There is some crystal malt behind this. Aftertaste reveals some of the roast. Palate is medium, above average carbonation, eventually dry finish. Unique take on an amber, it worked for me for the most part.

Draught. Poured red orange with medium head. Hoppy aroma on a roast spine. Malty flavour with an oaky and hoppy edge. Rather hoppier than a pale and not so hoppy as an IPA. Lekker hop finish.

Nice hazy crisp golden coloured body with a frothy white head that leaves a nice lace on the glass - this one looks great! Aroma of pale malt, light hops, wort, yeast and a bit of unfinished sugars. Medium-bodied; Nice assertive hops up front then showing some malt and a subtle citrus sweetness at the tail end. Aftertaste is somewhat hoppy, but not overly bitter and has a nice caramel sweetness. Overall, a nice and refreshing beer - not overly done like most new styles, and definitely worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 25-April-2009, sampled at home in the Real Washington on 03-May-2009.

Shaker pint draft at the brewpub. Pour is ruby golden with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, dark fruit and some bitter hoppiness. Aroma is a bit muted, though it opened up some as it warmed. Taste is a nice blend of the sweet malt, fruit and hoppiness. Palate is medium, masks the high ABV quite nicely, I would have never guessed this was 9%.
