345ml bottle into glass. Skunky nose with honey background. Amber beer with small white head. Taste of minerals, vegetables. Aftertaste is cooked vegetables with honey. Lingering, not good. It’s like a standard aussie macrolager with a tiny touch of honey.

(Bottle) Good looking beer - clear reddish amber with good dense off-white head. Disappointing aroma - cardboard with hints of seaweed and toffee. Light body, good carbonation giving smooth mouthfeel. Taste is mostly insipid with some vague caramel sweetness, broken only by some harsh bitterness at the end. Disappointing - a triumph of form over function - it looks and feels good, but a beer needs to smell and taste good!

Pours copper with a small head.Nose shows grapes, heavy sweet malt, a little booze, spicy hops and golden syrup.Rich flavours but a little rough. A fair bit of syrupy malt, some spicy hops and sultanas.

From a 345ml bottle on 15/11/2014. Pours a clear light golden with a small to medium head. Smells like a bad macro pale lager, with lots of stale grain and corn. The flavour isn’t a whole lot better, featuring a fair bit of sweet malt, just a hint of fruit, followed by the barest hop presence at the end. Has a thinnish body and medium carbonation. I was puzzled to see another APA from Matilda Bay, given they already have the more than passable Fat Yak and the quite good Alpha in the line up. After downing this, I’m even more perplexed, as this is a complete waste of time. This is an insipid, remarkably bland beer and the worst offering from MB so far (perhaps the CUB influence?). Sadly, this is a very long way from being the duck’s nuts.

345ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear gold, thick, rocky white head. Oranges and cream on the aroma, some earthy notes too. Taste is more orange, light caramel, bit watery though. Bitter on the finish, but a bit thin. OK.

Bottle @olutexpo 2014. Clear golden, thick lasting white head. Fruity, kiwi, citrus, mellow. Flavor has malt, citrus, kiwi, caramel. Light finish, not very bitter.

Bottle at the RHCC, cheers to Nate, 06/09/14. Copper golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is light citric peel, subtle hops, grass, bread dough, bitter orange. Taste follows, less depth. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. So so APA, the hops and trops don’t shine!

Light golden with a white head. Aroma is lightly citrus. Medium body. Citrus with a bit of toasted malt in the flavor, maybe a bit of grass. Decent brew. Much better when I had it on draught than when bottled.
