Description
Encouraged by treasured memories of his grandfather, Ralph decided to follow in his relative's footsteps and have a go at making cider in 1976. After moving from Shropshire to Anglesey in 1978 to become a farm manager for Bertram Bulmer (of Bulmer's Cider). Ralph moved to Old Badland in 1986 in order to farm for himself. It was a hard decision to make but, with the backing of his family, it was an opportunity not to be missed. He knew the farm had a small orchard of very old trees, and so began restoring it to its former glory...

Bottle that was picked up from Ralph’s stall at Hay on Wye Winter Food Festival 27.11.11 consumed a little there and a bottle of it today at home 28.11.10 Pours clear gold hint of sour apple on nose along with some fruit sugars. Really refreshing cider with a nice little dry bite at the end, good appley bite touch furry along the roof of the mouth. Very nice cider. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle that was picked up from Ralph’s stall at Hay on Wye Winter Food Festival 27.11.11 consumed a little there and a bottle of it today at home 28.11.10 Pours clear with a definate green tinge to it. Quite sweet in mouth, its a still perry so no bubbles, aroma is slight but there is a slight sweet peariness. Going back to taste it’s fine but maybe a touch sweet, little bit cordial like also, but pears are there and its pleasant. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
