Gravity cask at the GBBF Winter 2023 Festival, day 2 at Burton On Trent Town Hall, 17/02/23. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a light khaki crown. Nose is fruit cake, toffee, booze, light menthol notes, herb. Taste comprises light smoke, toffee, straw, grains, herb, dried fruit rinds, dates. Medium plus bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost offered. Decent enough cask barley wine, the oaking gives it a light herbal / earthy edge and tempers any sweetness.

Thanks to Graham for this Christmas Porter! On reste donc quelque peu frustré.

11/3/2022. Can bought direct from the Brewery. My Staffordshire rating #150. Pours clear chestnut amber with a large foamy off-white head. Aroma of toffee, malt, dried fruit, coffee cake, apricot, golden syrup. Medium sweetness, bitterness and body. Average carbonation. Lasting bittersweet finish. Usual chalky notes coming through. Pretty good.

29/1/2022. Can shared with ITFC boys. Bought direct from the brewery. Pours clear bright gold with a large frothy white head. Aroma has loads of lime, citrus, grass and light tequila. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Oily texture, quite fizzy. Increasing tequila bitterness comes through. Delivers what it promises.
