Cask as origin Amber at Clockwork. It pours hazy orange with a small white head. The nose is earthy, grainy, barnyard, egg and soft farty sulphur. The taste is bitterearth, toasted grain, citrus peel, barnyard and peppery grapefruit with a rather dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Sulphur on the nose is rather off-putting. Not great...

Cask, half pint at the Clockwork brewpub. Clear copper coloured body with a brownish shade. Thin,off-white layer. Malt-hoppy nose, on the fruity side. Hops up front to the taste buds joined by dried fruits. Bitter tail. Oliy palate. Medium bodied. Maybe the best of the five Clockwork brews (Glasgow, 12.04.2012).

Half pint, which I didn’t empty, at the Clockwork brewpub. Near-clear amber-gold, headless. Smell of fruity butter. Strange taste of sour hops and butter-like malts. Oily palate. Far from persuading, to be polite (Glasgow, 12.04.2012).

Half, served from cask at the Clockwork brewpub. Next to clear, copper coloured body. Patchy surface. Modest aroma of leafy hops. Malt-fruity taste with resinous hops, apples and mid-sweet malts. Dry and rather sharp bitter ending. Not quite convincingly (Glasgow, 12.04.2012).

Half, from the cask menu of their own ales at the brewpub. Clear amber, fragile lacing from a tiny, white layer. Soft hoppy smell, notes of grapefruits. Fresh fruity hops in flavour offset by caramel malts. Dry hopped ending. Thin in the mouth, but quite alright (Glasgow, 12.04.2012).
