Description
In the early 1900's St. Petersburg was known as "the Green Bench City". At their height some 2,500 benches lined the downtown sidewalks inviting passers-by to slow their pace and make friends of strangers. In the same way Green Bench beer will serve as a catalyst for community and cheer. People will gather around a pint (or two) to share in both good times and bad, to discuss business or tell a joke, to reminisce about life or dream about the future, to get up and dance to the music or to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the brew.

Sample at Crooked Stave. Pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops and toasted malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft - Lemon, pepper and other citrus notes. Pale yellow with a thin head. Sweet, sour and lemon/lime citrus. Light and bright, but more like a saison. Not really sure what they are trying to do and not sure I am on board.

Draft - Malty grain and a bit of spice. Clear gold with a thin beige head. Fruit esters, booze and yeasty with a bitter kick. The yeast profile does nothing for me. Bottle - Sweet perfumy, floral hop notes. Clear gold with almost no head. Flowery, grassy, light yeasty notes and a nice bitter fresh finish.

Draft - Phenolic and odd. Cloudy orange with no head. Herbal, medicinal and off again. Either a bad beer or mislabeled and still bad.
