6th June 2010. RBESG 10 Grand Tasting at the Brasserie 4:20 warehouse. Thanks to Wavers1, Very hazy dark brown beer. Short lived light brown head. Crisp and very dry palate. Dry and bitter and soft. Chalky. A little lightly toasted malt. It’s all a bit of a mess and doesn’t join up at all - really not good at all.

6th June 2010. RBESG 10 Grand Tasting at the Brasserie 4:20 warehouse. Thanks to Wavers1. Hazy gold beer. Light palate, dry. Sweet orange and piney hops in a dry wheaty malt background. Finishes dry and somewhat tart. Alright!

6th June 2010. RBESG 10 Grand Tasting at the Brasserie 4:20 warehouse. Thanks to Wavers1 for the beer. Cloudy amber beer. No real head. Crisp palate. Nice tart marmaladish orange , slightly bitter. This is a one note beer but it stood out from the crown at this grand tasting and refreshed the palate very well.

Pours a mildly hazy, glowy amber-orange. Decent white head that leaves nice lacing. The smell is mostly Belgian earthiness and improves as the beer warms. There’s some nice floral/pine hop aroma and too little malt presence. The flavor has a good bit of hop bitterness, mostly pine resin, for the style, particularly in the finish. It’s fairly dry, though there’s some sugary malt notes upfront. It’s an easy beer to drink, but there could be more going on and cleaner, fresher grain notes. Good beer for the summer.

Tasted blind. Bottled. A chestnut-red beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, caramel and fresh as well as over ripe fruits. The flavor has notes of malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry, alcoholic, and woody finish. The alcohol leaves a slightl burn on the tongue, but the body is light - probably due to a low level of residual sugar. Thanks yespr for sharing.

RBSG09. Strong sour berry flavor that grew a bit cloying after a few sips. Quite tart. It reminded me of a tart rhubarb pie, although I imagine it’s just olallieberries. Hard to find anything but sour berries in the flavor. It works a bit better in the aroma, but I didn’t love it. Mild funk, verging on the unnoticeable underneath all those berries. Perhaps, there was also a touch of oak. Pretty good sour but I need it to be incredible to accept that much fruit flavor.
