Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tal Levi for this bottle! Nice shiny clear deep golden to amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, a bit of caramel and lots of hops with zesty tropical fruits and pine. Flavor has some chewy malt with some sweetness and a bit of caramel, fruity and piney hops and a big bitter finish. Rounded mouthfeel. Really good and very well-made.

Single bomber from the LCBO. Pours a real dark brown with very little highlights. The beige head is slightly creamy with decent retention and some good amount of lace. Beautiful mild aromas of coffee at first, but seems to go away quickly. Roasted malt, dark fruits and then, after breathing, the cinnamon and other spices come out. Smooth wet mouthfeel (oily a tad) with a medium-full body. Roasted malt flavours with again, mild dark fruits and the cinnamon showing in the finish. Even hints of berries and mint show up which makes this interesting. Just wish it was not as mild overall.

Finally get a chance to try this one (as I forgot to pick it up all these years). Bomber from the LCBO. Pours a slight hazy golden-amber colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and creamy-foam lacing. Sweet malty nose with hints of honey at first, but the toasty caramel malts and biscuit come out giving hints of butterscotch. Not much hop in the aromas, but found in the taste covering the milder malts. This gives the wet mouthfeel a little dryness. Refreshing flagship beer, but a little light for today’s Pale Ale standards. More malty than hoppy.

Bottle from the Beer Store. Pours a cloudy pale orange with a big white head. Nose is toasted malts, biscuit some very light citrus notes. Sweet malt start and subdued caramel and citrus. Only minor bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. Needs a little more character.

Bottle: Poured a light brown color beer with a medium size foamy head with light retention. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt with light cereal notes. Taste is also dominated by dry caramel malt with light cereal notes with some subtle residual sugars notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Missing a bit of biscuit malt that do wonder for the style.

This porter poured a deep black colour with a quickly dissipating, tan coloured head. Scents include smoke, oak?, leather, ripe fruit and a little cocoa. First swig had a thin mouthfeel to almost watery proportion. Flavours of smoke, caramel, cigarettes and roast. Finish is quite roasty with lite coffee flavours lingering.

Bottle from The Beer Store. Pours a very clear dark brown with a small off white head. Nose is roasted malts and brown sugar with some nuts. Taste is quite sweet with malts and nuts dominant and a hint of molasses and honey. Mouth is medium slick with soft carbonation. Finish is quite dry but not bitter.

Bottle - Toffe and grapefruit hops with a bit of booze. Clear gold with a thin beige head. Resin, orange and caramel with a deep but appropriate. Not bad, but flavours are a bit plain.

Single bomber at the LCBO. Pours a clean amber colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and thick lacing. Rusty hop aromas with some butterscotch notes. Medium-light bodied. Caramel malt taste with some decent mild hop adding a little bitterness and dryness to the finish. Hints of butter and bread. Good, but nothing to exceptional.

Bottle - Vintage 2009 - Chocolate, caramel, spices and nutty. Jet maroon and a thin brown head. Tastes just like it smells, which is a blessing. If you can find an old bottle go get one.
