31st July 2010. ChrisO’s ’Raise The Roof’ tasting.
Last beer (for me) of a long days tasting. Clear amber beer. Little white head. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Sweet hops - pineapple and mango - lovely and fresh. Finishes dry. Good stuff and great final beer!

Bottled@The Chriso Rock The Roof Down pre-GBBF shindig. Amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts with some mild bisquity notes and also very much fruity and floral hops and some mild honey as well. Flavour is very much fruity and floral hops in a quite bittery, but sweetish kind of way. Also has some maltyness and mild vanilla to it. A nice IIPA.

Purchased in Toronto at a LCBO. Part 1 of 3 dark brown beers that are tested. This one pours a clean brown colour that light can be seen through. Good beige creamy head with high retention and excellent thick and creamy lacing. The aromas are of dark malt, molasse, nut, wood and some dark fruits. As the brew breaths, some chocolat scent also appears. The mouthfeel is rather watery though, so this can make a good session dark ale. Taste is like the nose, but with some light burnt wood in the aftertaste. Quite refreshing for a nut brown.
