0.5 l bottle from 'Bierothek' (online), best before February 2025. Clear, golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, a little malty, minimally fruity-floral aroma of grains, some straw, light honey and hints of lemon peel. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity-floral taste of grains, straw, honey, some popcorn and a touch of lemon peel, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally grassy finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Quite sweet but pleasant Helles.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours clear golden - blonde with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is a green, grassy, herbal, peppery spice, toasty grain husks, cereal and a touch of nuttiness. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, earthy, grassy, green, herbal, touch minty, clean, crackery malt, cereal and a nuttiness with a drying finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Very drinkable stuff. Moreish and balanced.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours clear golden - amber with a fairy small, bubbly white cap. The aroma is toasty grains, earthy, woody, touch of rubber, cereal, ryvita, pencil shavings and bread. The taste is crispy, firmly dry, bitter, earthy, woody, toasty grains, cereal, leafy, forest floor, herbal, damp grass and some of that pencil shaving character with a drying, woody finish. Medium body and light carbonation. Ok, but could be better conditioned tbh. I had hoped for a bit more.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear honey-gold with a tight, creamy white head. Light sweet flavour with notes of baked pale grains, some grass, husk, hay, biscuit, faint metallic notes. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly dry to finish, subtle metallic note, more sun-kissed pale grains, light bitter hay, grass. Decent overall.

Sweetish-malty, slightly floral aroma honey, some grains and a touch of nuts. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly floral taste of honey, nuts, grains, some nuts and a touch of sultanas, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant lager, very well-brewed.
