Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Clear dark golden color with a medium off-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, fruit and malt. Light body with flavors of herbal hops, fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

12oz bottle. Golden tan body, foamy off-white head. Creamy, buttery aroma. A pretty true to style Scottish Ale. Creamy golden malts, touch of caramel. Not much hop character at all, as per the style. Highly sessionable. Pretty decent, but a little bland, lacking much depth or character. At the end of the day this is a relatively true Scottish Ale, and that is commendable.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent hazy looking orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing speckling the glass nicely.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet citrus to bittersweet sticky pine lightly dosed with sweet caramel malts.
The taste was mainly sweet but still tried to get the piney hops to make a play however, they stay subdued for the most part.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was right on par for the style and for me - just enough harshness but didn’t go overboard.
Overall, good APA worthy of having again if I could.

Bottle. Hazy golden body with a frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, pine. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Some floral and resin notes emerge in the taste, but mostly citrus in the form of grapefruit rind and bitter lemon peel.

Purchased at Steve's Wines in Madison, WI; enjoyed at a fancy holiday party in Milwaukee, WI. I didn't take notes, but remember this being a decent scotch that went down very sweet.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered hazy orange body, thin creamy white head. Full of pungent, earthy apricot flavor, this is a pretty unique offering. Medium bodied, refreshing, with a really nice apricot depth. Some zesty bite up front, but finishes smooth and easy. Refreshing, tasty beer. Juicy, tangy.

Bottle. Pours a deep golden haze with a fair white head. Aroma is off-putting; sour rotten peaches comes to mind. Taste is light grainy malts & resin-like bitterness. Light body and soft carbonation. This beer simply does not taste very good to me.
