Bomber from Nugget Market in Vacaville, CA. Pours the very light hazy gold of a typical wit. Quite temporary white head. Aroma is citrus zest and coriander. Not getting pear. Near med body. Flavor definitely has pear, but there’s also the zest and coriander. If you like wit bier you might like this. If you need to avoid gluten, this is likely to be better than most non-grain beers. The pear seems to render the finish not quite dry, but it’s a close call.

Mazel Tov! I have finally gotten around to trying this. Apple, vinegar, plastic aroma. Cloudy old gold. Texture is very light, ethereal. Apple and vanilla flavor. Chemical plastic notes are less evident than in the aroma, but present nonetheless. Texture is fantastic as it seems to completely evaporate the instant it reaches the tongue. On the other hand, the flavor and aroma are slightly tainted.

Tap at Cincy Beerfest. Apple, oak, and creamy vanilla aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with no head, per usual for cider/perry. Musty apple, vanilla, spicy oak, and light funky brett flavor. Light body, lively carbonation. Not distinctively pear. Honestly more like an apple cider, but still nice.

Can. Tart pear and yeast aroma. Hazy pale yellow. Sweet-tart pear and lemon flavor. Light musty finish. Not bad but nothing that stands out.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours like clear pear juice. A few spritely bubbles. Very nice aroma - sort of mixed ripe and unripe pears. Med minus body. Flavor is very pear. It is very like eating a pear that’s almost ripe. Nice.

Bomber from the Folsom Whole Foods. Pours hazy gold with a few white bubbles. Aroma is sort of floral/pear. Near med body. Flavor is pear, but sort of like there’s a grain component. It’s very dry, and moderately bitter. Some pear skin comes out in the finish.

Bottle. Sweet tart apple and mulling spice aroma. Cloudy amber with bit chunks of slimy sediment. Syrupy sweet apple and mulling spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, allspice) flavor. Full syrupy body, flat carbonation.

Can. Fresh sweet-tart pear aroma. Hazy pale yellow. Sweet fruity pear/apple, artificially tart, yeasty fermented flavor. Light to medium body, extremely carbonated, moderately dry finish. Not impressed by the addition of pear juice, and malic acid, which results in an overwhelming artificial tartness (described by the company as a "subtle citrus zing"). Technically, the flavor is ok, but it’s more of a food-lab created type flavor than a crafted pear cider
