Description
Eik & Tid (Oak & Time) is a farmhouse beer inspired brewery in Oslo, Norway dedicated to making sour and wild beer the nordic way.

Our entire brew setup is customized to fit the raw beer brewing process. By modifying surplus dairy tanks from Norwegian farms, we where able to get what we needed at an affordable cost. We also like the added bonus of upcycling derelict equipment instead of getting new made and shipped half across the globe.

Tasty and powerful beer. Still very easy to drink.
Deep ruby pour. Tad rich carbonation level.
Toffee, fruity, yeast and oak in the flavor.

Tap @ Både &. Slightly unclear straw golden body with a moderate sized, lacing white head. Strong and fruity aroma, citric fruit, mild tropical fruit, passion fruit, fresh grass, grapes, wood and white vine. Flavor is super refreshing, feels both sweet and dry at the same time, fruity like aroma, wood, grapes, some bitterness. This is complexity and balance to the extreme, nothing is overdone and tons of flavors at the same time. Same goes for body, feels light and easy, still pure perfection. Long lasting aftertaste. Lots of taste and still a pallet cleaner. This is a hell of an amazing beer.

Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Unclear pale golden body with a dense white head. Rather mild in aroma, fruit yogurt, minerals and farmhouse hints. Flavor is also quite light, mild, fruity, light funk, minerals and some lemon acidity. Medium body and average aftertaste. Nice and easy drinkable, not particular complex but a nice experinece.

Bottle from Gulating. Slightly unclear brown body with a small off-white head. Mild aroma, malt, bread, ripe fruit and hint of wood. Flavor is quite subtle and you might be a little experienced to figure out whats going on here because this is a rather quite beer where the aroma and flavors doesn't actually screams for attention. It’s still not a great beer, but it has certain qualities that deserves some attentions. The balance is quite amazing. I don't see this as a sour beer really, but there is a tart dryness and mild acidity balancing the sweet malt, making this beer feeling a lot lighter than it probably is. It feels quite malty, but not very sweet at all. Not much fruit or bitterness either, but some kind of ripe berries or fruit contributes to the flavor. It’s not a funky beer, but there is some kind of cellar notes here. It has some wood and yeast flavor which gives a earthy character. I have no idea what their house kveik strains is supposed to taste like, but compared with the kveik based beer I have sampled so far, I can't really say to recognize any kveik flavors either. That is not necessary a bad thing, I just need to try some other samples with this kveik flavor to get to know this better.

All in all a very balanced but not particular exiting beer, there is no WOW factors, but is still a good beer that should be tasted by anyone who has an interest of beer besides searching for the bitterest, most sour, strongest or most juicy flavor when tasting beer.

Tap @ Patricks, Kristiansand. Slightly unclear golden body with a small, lacing white head. Aroma is fresh but rather undefined, some kind of fruit, herbs, minerals and hint of yogurt. It feels unusually but it’s such a teaser when smelling something this distinct and not been able to tell if it’s fruity, berry or herbal. Looking forward to taste this, and then I got the same undefined flavors. It’s sure a refreshing beer, slightly sour, kinda fruity, herbal, almost a bit funky, earthy, mineral, maybe eucalyptus – hell this is is awesome. Fine balanced in flavor that I really can’t put together. Nothing extreme, just nice really. Love it.

From tap outside De Bierkoning, Amsterdam, during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2017. Herbal aroma with spicy juniper, notes of pickles, grain, lactic touch with yoghurt. Flavour is medium sour. Body is medium. Fascinating Norsk traditional brew.
