This is a gap filler beer, since they ran out of the Potz-Blitz beer early, before the Rotbier was ready. Clear maroon color, tan head. Aroma has light roast, dark fruit. Taste easy drinking cocoa and coffee. Not bad.

Apr ’15. On tap at the brewpub, just released two days before. Reportedly, some Märzen left, too, but since it’s April already for the third day, they couldn’t serve the March beer. Oh well, could a schwarzbier can be interesting for a special, too?Well, this one poured a hazy, dark brown body with medium sized brown head. Aroma of caramel, coffee and some other fine roasted malt notes. Flavor was bittersweet, well balanced with fine cocoa and coffee roasted malt, which easily flirted with elegant bitterness, their "dark side". Medium bodied but still with a long, pleasant, again very well rounded cocoa and latte finish. This one was really nice and enjoyable!

Apr ’15. On tap at the brewpub, pouring an extremely hazy, a muddy pale yellow body with a medium sized head. Weak, herbal, lightly sour and muddy yeast aroma. Flavor was more of the same, but not so weak, very chalky, earthy with herbal notes. Thin in body and watery as well. Seemed like it was unfinished. Weird. Might rerate given the new opportunity.

Weicher röstmalziger Antrunk, geringe Herbe. Die Röstigkeit bleibt weitestgehend konstant, süffig, rund. Langer, leicht herber Nachgeschmack mit weichem dunklen Malz. 10/10/11/10//10

On tap @ the brewpub (old rating). Unclear amber body with a nice beige head. Aroma is slightly roasted malt, yeast and fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, hint of roast, fruity yeast and low bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Quite OK, but not very exciting.

On tap @ the brewpub (old rating). Very unclear orange body with a big, fluffy, lacing off-white head. Aroma is fruity with lots of yeast and slightly sour. Flavor is sweet malt, fruity, some overripe vegetables, lots of yeast and low bitterness. Medium to thin body. Drinkable but not very impressive.
