Deep black with a thick off white head. Nice roasted malt aroma that intensifies as the brew warms. Caramel, sweet malt tempered by roast malt bitterness and toffee. A little more body would improve this some, but it’s not a bad brew otherwise.

This hazy light amber brew starts with a good head and a clean, fruity, aroma. The flavor is crisp, slightly acidic with a sweet finish. The hops add just a touch of dryness but are very subdued overall.

This is my pick of the GA IPA's and will rate right up with all of them. It starts with an assertive hop presence in the aroma which is clean, floral, and refreshing. The hop bittereness is ever so slightly more present that the malty character of this beer. Hops and malt harmonize right to the dry crispy finish of this beer. Under rated.

Very dark brown colour body with a nice light brown coloured head. Strong roasted malt aroma with hints of cherries, dark chocolate (~71% cacao) and a subtle sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong roasted flavour with the normal hints of chocolate and coffee. Aftertaste shows a slightly different note with major bitterness and only a minor showing of the sweetness. Overall, a very nice stout, oen that should be tried by everyone! I got this twelve ounce bottle at Green's in Atlanta, Georgia (my pack is the same as Haddon90's).

Golden colour with a decently thick white head. Fairly strong grapefruity hop characteristics in the aroma. Light to Medium-bodied; Grapefruity hop flavour but not strong at all...fairly mild. Aftertaste shows a bit of the hops with an equal balance of malt. Overall, a decent IPA, but more reminiscent of an APA in my opinion. I had this beer on draught at Summit's in Sandy Springs (Atlanta), Georgia on 25-September-2003.

Brown in colour with a thin tan head. Malty smell with the addition of wet feet. Strong yeast and bread aroma as well. Medium-bodied; Silky mouthful; Malty flavour with a very mild hop profile. Aftertaste fairly malty and nothing special nor decadent. Overall, an average beer, really nothing too special. I had this beer on draught at Summit's in Sandy Springs (Atlanta), Georgia on 25-September-2003.

Bottle 2:
Light amber in colour with a thin white head. Very minimal aroma, but hops are detectable in what is noticeable. Medium-bodied; A good hoppy flavour - perfectly balanced with malt. Aftertaste bittered from the hops. Overall, pretty good from the style and better than the IPA in my eyes. I had this beer on draught at Summit's in Sandy Springs (Atlanta), Georgia on 25-September-2003. Rating for this bottle: 4,4,8,3,13.

Bottle 1:
Hazy golden colour with some dark orange highlights. A thick head filled with smaller bubbles and is off-white coloured. Not much too much in the smell, perhaps a bit of english hops, a bit of some sugar and a touch of floral and perfumey aromas. Medium-bodied; Malty flavour with a pretty strong sweetness, just in sugar form (no fruit or burnt sugars), and finally some hops (english). The aftertaste is pretty well balanced between the malt and the hops, but not much other than that is noticed. Not a bad beer at all, but it really didn't strike my fancy. Overall, worth trying if you like English Pales and live in Georgia or Florida! I got this twelve ounce bottle in a beer trade with great guy Matt A. (Mabdoney) from Florida. Thanks again Matt! Thanks to aracauna for the trade. This is definitely one of the best Wits I have tried, even if it is not the best example of the style. In fact, many of the elements in a more classic version of the style that I do not enjoy are not a factor in this brew. Pours a murky dark orange with a thin off-white head. Thin lacing. Nicely spiced aroma, with some citrus and vanilla. Light and crisp with a nice citrus aspect, along with yeast, cloves, coriander and other spices. The finish is sweet and lingering. Tbis is an outstanding brew for summer enjoyment.

Opaque. Dense, fudgey aroma - toffeeish malts, figs, nuts - high enjoyable. Touch of iron in the chocolatey body. Moderate sweetness. Good balance.

Thanks BHB! I have kind of mixed feelings about this one. Before I get into that, the label on this beer is really trippy. Brownish-orange color with Dogwood's characteristically huge head that tries your patience as you pour it. Lightly hopped aroma. Malty flavor that was a little sour on the end, but not necessarily bitter in a good way. Carbonation was a little on the heavy side and detracted from the flavor due to the ruckus in my mouth. Not the best Dogwood I have had, but not a terrible beer either.
