Thanks to TheBeerCellar2 for the trade that brought this bottle of the retired Dogwoods brew. Hazy amber ale with almost no head. Caramel malt aroma, Flavor brings foth caramel maltiness and a bit of plummy fruitiness, the alcohol coming through just a little in the aftertaste with a bit of hop bitterness. I don’t know when this was bottled, but too bad Dogwoods is gone, it has become excellent, whatever it’s age.

Thanks to TheBeerCellar2 for this one - pours a nice dark burgundy color, with a very frothy, long-lasting head - aroma of plums, chocolate and some cellar/must - the medium body, foamy mouthfeel, dark fruit and chocolate of the flavor all seem very dubbel-like - near lack of hops, some caramel and toffee finish - very belgian-like - I like!

Thanks to TheBeerCellar2 for this rare specimen - somewhat cloudy burnt red in color - aroma of caramel, cinnamon, black cherry, raisins - oxidation is evident in the aroma as well - flavor of overripe apples, toffee, some almost funky mustiness, a hint of strawberry - some spicy hops come in late, along with nice warming alcohol - very well-crafted.

Many thanks the TheBeerCellar2 for the bomber of this rare treat - thick, opaque pour, with moderate ring of tan lacing - aroma is quite dry, woody and almost smokey, with lots of dark roast coffee and some toffee and caramel in the back - smooth, creamy mouthfeel - heavy cream and coffee dominate the flavor - a nice dryness compliments these tastes - a hint of vanilla and dried fruits (cherries, dates) - it certainly is a shame that this brewery no longer exists.

thanks to Aracauna for this one! This has "cellared" in the ’fridge for maybe the last year. Poured with a small off-white head that fell quickly. The body was muddy and full of chunky particulates. Root beer in color and aroma. Lightly sweet and spicy and delivers smoothly with a medium body. Not bad as the spices were well balanced and their presence was just about right.

From a trade with Goldtwins, back in 2004. Hazy golden ale with a thick creamy white. Sweet malt aroma with orange, nutmeg and maderized honey. Sweet malt with touch of coriander, maple and orange peels, nice and smooth. A bit oxidized i believe as i got some cardboard notes. still, a very nice trade from GT.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pitch black and completely opaque with a dark brown head. Aromas of tar and burned malt. Surprisingly light-bodied with lots of burned malt in the flavour - but nothing much more really. A bit more complexity would make this a great beer. 240705

Noogfest Bottle 89/2500 Hold on she’s gonna blow! I watched as TheBeerCellar2 tried to tame this beast. He was like the little Dutch Boy trying to hold back the sea with his finger in the dike! It just didn’t want to settle down and allow itself to be poured. Having sat in his cellar for four years it was no wonder. Fearing a possible infection, we were all relieved when after the first taste, it was pronounced to be good and the pouring commenced. Medum gold with a frothy head. Nice funky Belgian aroma Lightly sweet with a light body, this was a very well done Belgian style. Another good reason to get Crawford Moran back to brewing and the sooner the better.

[Sampled October 2004] An unclear orange beer with an off-white head. The aroma is of oranges and peach. The flavor is a little old and dusty, but with notes sweet flavors of alcohol, malt, oranges, peaches in the over ripe end.
