Cask at Halfway House Edinburgh on Launch day ... Nice solid hazy yellow orange...thin white head ... very soft mouthfeel ... servered a little bit too cold for me ... nice lemon and banana ... very juicy ... very refreshing... This slipped down just oh so well... realy quafable 4.0.. TK2 ok this is just so drinkable its a delight to swallie ... lovely soft fruity sweetness ... sweet lemons ... This is gonna rock in the summer... not that its not great now. ->4.3

Golden colored. A small creamy head. Strong fruity aroma. A bit watery but some malt observed. Some dry bitterness.

Cask at Halfway House, Edinburgh 12 Nov 08. Dark brown colored â almost black. A small tanned creamy head. Modest malty aroma. Sweet fruity flavor with some malty hints. Hardly any bitterness. A bit disappointing.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 29/01/09. Golden in colour with a slight white head. Workmanlike golden ale with some grassy hops, malt sweetness and a moderate bitter finish. Ok.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 29/01/09. Reddish-amber with next to no head. Malty aroma, with some fruit and a slight hint of smoke. Flavour had some sweet malt, red fruit and a short bitter finish. An enjoyable change from English bitters.

Mini cask at home (its the way to go) ... Deep black thin tan head ...soft coffee roast nose ...nice smooth coffee malts ... low bitterness decenyt fruity malts ... decent enough but its just missing a little depth for me 3.5... Day 2 ... deep black ... smooth rich milk chocolate ... again milk chocolate ... very rich ... great depth ... quite bitter in linger with more chocolate . 3.8... Day three in the Garvie houshold and the Minicask is now 3/4 done ... while its retained its colour and its nice rich chocolate nose ... the flavour seems have developed a more bitter tone ... nice deep fruit and roast... a tiny amount of burn coffee ... It has definitly gained the depth it was lacking in its first day. 3.7 cask at cloister. .. black ...sweet miltky roast ... loads of chocolate. .. little licorice. .. lovely 4.1cask at bow bar 171111 ... dark black... creamy tan head ... soft dark fruity malt nose ... very mellow toffee chocolate roast ... little blackcurrant ... quite plumy ... nice 4.0 As Chilli Caulde Reekie ... dark black ... thin lacing (trial sample from plastic bottle)... light roast malt nose ... deep roast but huge chilli front ... quite a big capsicum flavour but balanced with the roast malts ... nice soft chocolate roast ... long chilli linger... its big on the chilli.. very nice but prob too much for a pint 3.9 ... but the burn fast dissapears and leave a nice capsicum linger... I really want to try more of this bottle at home ... Vintage 2008 version released by brewery... drunk March 2015 ... deep black ... thin tan lacing (was big head colapsing)... dark dry chocolate cardboard nose ... soft roast ... thin malts.. dry thin roast ... dry chocolate ... thin malts .. long cardboard note... an interesting experiment but its not held up as much as id have hoped 3,4 Keg at cloisters as extra cauld... Dark black.. Thin lacing... Head no where as good as the five cask versions... Dark chocolate roast malts nose... Definitely fizzy.. Rich berries.. Soft chocolate.. Soft roast. Very fruity 3.8...but fizz ruins it

Two half pint, cask served at the right drinking temperature at Cloister Bar in Edinburgh early on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Clear, deep mahogany body with a few patches on the top. Dry malty aroma. Dark fruits flavour accomplished by sweet malts. Mid dry in the mouth, with just one bitter note, or perhaps two [26.10.2008].

Cask, half pint. Mahogany body under a low, off-white head. Nice laceworks. Weak aroma of fruitlike malts. Plain malty initial taste, becoming more fruity and bitter towards the ending. Medium bodied. A wonderful experience sitting at the old island bar and gantry at Abbortsford in Edinburgh [25.10.2008].

Cask by air pressure dispense at the amazing island bar at Abbortsford in Edinburgh. Nice lacework on the glass. Amber-copper body with brilliant clarity. Nice hopped aroma and taste added by dark fruits. Satisfying bitter endnotes [25.10.2008]

Cask, half pint by air pressure dispense. Off-white head just covering the surface of a beautiful, deep mahogany body. Smell of dark malts. Slightly roasted blend of coffee, caramel and chocolate in flavour, even with some fruity hints coming through towards the ending. Round and comfortable in the mouth [Mini beer festival at Abbotsford Bar in Edinburgh, 25.10.2008].
